TED DRYGAS, CPO

American Board Certified Prosthetist-Orthostist

I have lived in Rockland County for over 30 years, and I have been involved in Prosthetics and Orthotics for 10 of those years. I was exposed to the profession at an early age: I met the children amputees and brace wearers of an unfortunate bus and train accident; my aunt had multiple sclerosis and wore bilateral long leg braces; and as a youth, a woman on my paper route was an above knee amputee.

I graduated from Nyack High School in 1977, received my Bachelor of Science degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from New York University in 1981, and shortly thereafter became an American Board Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist. (I was president of the New York State Academy Chapter, I am a licensure committee member for New York Orthotists/Prosthetists Association (NYOPA), and an adjunct professor at New York Medical College and Mercy College).

I am a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOPA), the New York Orthotists/Prosthetists Association (NYOPA), and the New York chapter of American Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetics (NYSAAOP).

At Care Crafters, Inc. we are dedicated to providing personalized care. When a patient comes in, I ask them what they want to do, and work with them to accommodate the componentry to their lifestyle, keeping them as active as they want to be. It is not always easy, as it often requires frequent visits to fine-tune the prosthesis during the long adjustment process. Through this dedication to personal care and quality craftsmanship, we are able to develop successful long-term relationships with our patients.
